Keylor Navas didn’t travel with the rest of the team in Paris Saint-Germain’s 7-1 road win over Lille OSC last weekend because he is suffering from an apparent back injury. This has complicated negotiations with Serie A side Napoli and it seems that the Italian team is now considering alternatives to the Costa Rica international.

This injury has complicated negotiations between Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain. While the treatment continues for Navas recovery, the Serie A side seems to be leaning towards the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Navas could be forced to stay in Paris

The Costa Rica international was the main candidate for Napoli to replace the vacant spot that David Opsina left prior to the start of the season and Navas was supposed to arrive on loan with option to buy, or terminate his contract at the end of the campaign. Now the target for Napoli seems to be on Kepa with the Spaniard also available to come in on loan with Chelsea prepared to pay half of his salary.

If Napoli does reach a deal with the Premier League side to sign Kepa, then Navas would be forced to stay in Paris for the remainder of the campaign. PSG head coach, Christophe Galtier, has been clear that the veteran goalkeeper will have a secondary role this year because Gianluigi Donnarumma has been given the starting job.
