Klopp satisfied after Liverpool FA Cup victory

Liverpool booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with their victory over Wolverhampton Wolves at Molineux.

Liverpool earned their first win since the 2023 year began with their victory over Wolves on Tuesday. It was just their third win since the resumption of domestic soccer after the World Cup.

“It feels like ages ago we had that feeling of winning and playing well,” said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. ”We had to fight hard at the end, but we controlled the game for long periods. It’s great and the reaction we wanted to see.”

Keller and Elliott take Liverpool to fourth round FA Cup

Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Keller replaced Alisson Beckerin for the FA Cup third round replay at Wolves on Tuesday. After several poor performances by the Reds, Klopp made some rotations and Keller repaid his faith in him by not conceding a single goal to Wolves.

“I said to the boys after the game, ‘that’s how it feels when you play well and win’,” said Klopp. “We can’t really remember anymore when that was the case, but tonight it was the case, and that’s why we are quite happy.”

Harvey Elliott gave Liverpool the lead with a first half strike to put them up 1-0 past the hosts. Liverpool have now won their last four away games at Wolves in all competitions.

“We scored an exceptional goal where Harvey saw something that I think not a lot of people in the stadium saw,” said Klopp. “The game was much better, completely different to the last one obviously, and I am really happy with that.”

Liverpool will go on to play Brighton on Sunday, January 29 after suffering a 3-0 Premier League defeat to them just two weeks ago.
