Kylian Mbappé decides to join Real Madrid from PSG
Mbappé, according to Le Parisien, will join Real Madrid from PSG this summer.
One of the longest transfer sagas in the history of football could be coming to an end. According to French outlet Le Parisien, Kylian Mbappé has chosen to join Real Madrid, although the Parisian daily does not consider the deal to be finalised.
Paris Saint-Germain have been trying to persuade Mbappé to sign a new deal for weeks but negotiations have not progressed. According to Le Parisien, “The biggest star in French football will join the biggest club in the world for next season”. Meanwhile, in Madrid, there is believed to be optimism behind the scenes as negotiations for what would be the biggest contract at the club (for the Les Bleus captain) are underway.
Mbappé reached an agreement in August with PSG president Nasser Al Khelaïfi, in which the player agreed to forgo an €80m loyalty bonus so that PSG would not suffer a financial loss if he did not sign a contract renewal.
Mbappé to Madrid in the summer
“The battle is lost,” adds the report in Le Parisien, alluding to the clues Mbappé has given in recent weeks and months regarding a possible renewal, including the letter he sent to PSG in June, in which he formally declined to execute a renewal clause until 2025. If the reports from Paris are indeed true, the Mbappé to Madrid story, once and for all, could come to an end in the summer, with the France captain finally signing for Los Blancos.
