LA 2028’s nationwide plan for Olympic soccer begins to take shape
The organizers of the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics announced the six U.S. cities that will host the soccer tournament.

New details emerged on Tuesday about the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, as the countdown continues and, with just over two years to go before the Olympic flame is lit in LA, the Olympic soccer tournament is beginning to take shape. On Tuesday, six US cities were officially designated as hosts for the competition in the world’s most popular sport.
Speaking at a press conference in Milan ahead of the opening of the Winter Olympics, which the city will host alongside Cortina, LA28 chief executive Reynold Hoover confirmed the six cities that will stage Olympic soccer matches in 2028.
As is customary, despite the Olympic Games being awarded to a single host city, the soccer tournament is played across multiple cities in the host country. That model will once again be used in Los Angeles, helping logistics while boosting tourism and the economic impact the upcoming Games are expected to generate across the United States.
In addition to Los Angeles, the 2028 Games will see Olympic soccer played in New York, Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, as well as San Diego and San Jose, neighboring California cities, as officially confirmed by LA28.

Rose Bowl will host the decisive stages
According to reports from AP News, Hoover also confirmed what had previously been discussed as a possibility – the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California will host the Olympic soccer final. At the most recent Games, Paris’s Parc des Princes, home of PSG, staged both the women’s and men’s finals.
While the specific venues are still to be finalized, it is already known that “top-tier MLS stadiums” will be used as hosts for the Olympic soccer tournament. As a result, the stadiums of New York City FC, Columbus Crew, Nashville SC, St. Louis City SC, San Diego FC, and the San Jose Earthquakes will serve as venues during the competition.
