They defeated the Colorado Rapids in the first round, overcame Minnesota United in the Western Conference semifinals, and triumphed over the Seattle Sounders in the conference final.
However, the Galaxy have suffered a major setback with the loss of Riqui Puig, the team’s linchpin throughout the season. Puig sustained a torn cruciate ligament in the match against Seattle, ruling him out of the most important game of the year. Vanney will now need to rely on his tactical expertise to compensate for this significant loss.
