One MLS Cup win and two Supporters Shields in five season is not a bad haul for one of the newer MLS clubs.

A slender 1-0 win over Sporting KC at Providence Park last Monday was good enough to see the Timbers get their season off to a positive start despite a stodgy display from Giovanni Savarese's men.
