LaLiga club out to sign Monterrey star: this is the latest on the transfer tussle
According to multiple reports, Rayados have delivered an ultimatum as they face interest for a midfield star.
As the days go by, negotiations for Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa appear to be reaching a critical juncture - either nearing completion or on the verge of collapse.
On Monday, Real Betis executives, including sporting director Manu Fajardo, arrived in Monterrey with a single mission: to meet face-to-face with Rayados leadership in hopes of securing the 25-year-old’s transfer.
This kind of direct approach is a rarity in Liga MX, where it’s uncommon for European clubs to personally travel to Mexico to negotiate for a specific player.
With Betis showing that level of commitment, Monterrey is now in a position to set terms that ensure they come out ahead - no matter the outcome.
How much do Rayados want for Deossa?
Multiple reports indicate that Betis has tabled a $12 million offer for Deossa. However, Monterrey is holding firm, reportedly unwilling to part with the midfielder unless $15 million hits their account.

Monterrey coach reluctant to lose player
The steep asking price reflects Rayados’ reluctance to let Deossa go. Head coach Domènec Torrent has made it clear to the front office that Deossa is a key part of his project, and the club is standing by that vision - even if the current offer is double what they paid Pachuca for him.
With Betis having traveled thousands of miles to negotiate in person, the coming days will be pivotal. Either the Spanish club meets Monterrey’s valuation, or the deal falls apart entirely.
