MLS has been exporting many of its talented young players to Europe’s top-tier clubs in recent years and the US league has been busy during the summer transfer window. The latest players to make the move to Europe’s big five leagues are CF Montréal midfielder Djordje Mihailovic and LAFC defender Mamadou Fall.

Latest MLS transfers

Mihailovic didn’t play in his side’s 4-0 home win against the New England Revolution on Saturday as he is set to secure a move to AZ Alkmaar. Both clubs are close to reaching an agreement and a deal could be confirmed in the next few days. The 23-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided 20 assists in 54 appearances with Montréal over the past two seasons.

Fall also didn’t travel to San Jose to face the Earthquakes on Saturday night for LAFC’s 2-1 defeat at PayPal Park because he is on the verge of joining Villarreal. The MLS side is finalizing a deal to loan the defender to the LaLiga club and he is expected to travel to Spain early next week to undergo a medical examination.

The 19-year-old has made 16 appearances, 13 as a starter, this season, but has seen less playing time following the arrival of former Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini and with defender Eddie Segura returning from a long-term injury. LAFC wants Fall to get more experience and decided the best option is to loan the defender to Villarreal.
