Liga MX goes pink for breast cancer awareness month

The Mexican league has confirmed the campaign activity for the month of October that will cover the Liga MX Apertura, Feminil and Expansion leagues.

The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) launched the 2023 campaign in generating awareness for the prevention and detection of breast cancer, which will be conducted via the three top profile leagues in the country, Liga MX, Expansion MX and Liga MX Femenil during the month of October.

The launch saw key high profile names from the world of Mexican soccer including Liga MX president, Mikel Arriola, head of marketing at the FMF and Eliza Puente, Director of CIMA Foundation.

A series of initiatives are planned during the monthly campaign and will include the delivery of five thousand mastographies (donated by Salud Digna) to female fans through Liga MX and Expansion MX clubs.

A special VOIT match ball in characteristic pink will also be used in the three competitions for the month with a special auction set to be conducted with all matchday 12 player jerseys set to be sold off with all funds going to CIMA Foundation to purchase breast prostheses.

Each stadium across the league will use pink goal nets and breast cancer survivor ambassadors will speak prior to games in each of the three competitions.

The league will also conduct, in parallel a social media campaign across their platforms to promote awareness during the month with the corresponding clubs also using their platforms to extend the campaign.
