Liverpool 3-1 Wolves: as it unfolded
Liverpool finish with another W
As I talked about in the build-up, this has been a historic season for the Reds and things almost went more incredible than expected in an emotional afternoon in the Premier League.
Going behind to Wolves early was never likely to be a major issue for Klopp's high-scoring side, but they did struggle to create much in the second half and often looked vulnerable on the counter.
While they were in search of a needed win, title rivals Man City seemed to be throwing their advantage away, going two goals down to Aston Villa at home. That sparked the hope in Liverpool fans, but as the final whistles blew, Guardiola's men had turned the game on its head, while Salah and Robertson had added to Mané's first half goal.
In the end, all the predictions of two home victories came to pass...but not anywhere close to the way we all expected.
Next up for Liverpool, a trip to Paris to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Wow! What an afternoon. What a season. Thank you for joining me today and we look forward to your company again soon for one of our many live feed coverages.
Peep, peep, peeeeep!! It's all over here and despite the disappointment, when the impossible seemed possible, a final rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone rings out.
The full time whistle has gone at the Etihad and City have won 3-2. That secures a fourth title in five years for Guardiola's team.
Robertson decides to go for one of his occasional runs forward and does brilliantly to reach the penalty area and lay off to Salah. There are enough defenders covering to block them off and Wolves clear.
We'll have four added minutes but I'd suggest it will be a fairly tame period as fans listen on the radio to what is happening in the final seconds in Manchester.
This contest at Anfield is over.
GOAL!! Andy Robertson combines nicely with Firmino to put a gloss on the scoreline.
There's a strange celebration in parts of the crowd but I'm guessing some joker shouted that Villa had scored again. They haven't.
GOAL!! Salah finally finds what Liverpool have been needing
It's a corner met by Matip, blocked on the line, quickly worked back to Salah who turns and nudges it in.
City have a third!! What a turnaround in Manchester. If they hold onto that, the title is theirs.
The Reds know they need a win here and are pushing more and more players forward. That's leaving them exposed on the break and Alisson has had to be alive to a couple of situations to keep then in it.
How do you play 38 games each and have the game down to just a few final minutes?
City have scored twice in three minutes and are level with Villa.
As it stands, a goal from Liverpool wins the title for them but if City keep scoring, that'll be irrelevant.
What a chance for Wolves. Rolled across the penalty area with Alisson stranded, just out of reach though and the hosts survive.
Firmino is on for Keita as Klopp sees the title chance drift away.
Following a couple of half-chances for the visitors, Alisson has the ball and finds his fellow Brazilian wide on the left with a missile of a pass. An unusually loose pass from the forward hands possession back.
The fans around the stadium have heard the news from Manchester and urge their team forward. A spark is needed and Trent is once again forward and shooting, this time inside the area.
A strong block in front of Ruddy and its cleared.
Villa are 0-2 ahead!!!!! Liverpool still need a goal
The pace has slowed, the Reds maybe taking a more patient approach to the barn-storming one many were hoping for in this half. It's worked for them before this season, but can be a risky strategy.
As I say that, Keita rolls the ball to Trent in the centre of the pitch and the full-back pulls the trigger. A decent save from Ruddy who throws himself to his left.
Home fans are feeling the nerves, with whistles arriving when Wolves have even a few seconds of control. The songs continue around Anfield but they need some concerted pressure, something we haven't seen much of this half, to get the noise back to its first half levels.
Salah comes on for Jota.
The Egyptian has been quiet in recent weeks - for his crazy high standards - but today would be a decent time to refind his scoring form.
Ouchie! Coady takes a thumping Diaz strike straight in the face. He's down and getting some attention.
With Liverpool desperate for a goal, they turn to the bench. Is there anyone there who could help? Some Egyptian fella appears to be coming on.
Mané, again playing in that central role, is found on the turn. This time he's onside but there are enough defenders around him to prevent the shot, although Jota feeds off the scraps and his strike is blocked.
Liverpool have to just keep knocking at the door and hope it opens.
OFFSIDE! Mané has the ball in the net with a delicious dink over Ruddy but the flag is up.
The replay show that it was the right call. Lovely ball to him from Jota.
There was a brilliant rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone at the start and it's going to be important for the home fans to forget their nerves and keep the noise going.
Nice build-up play from the hosts feels like the beginning of a number of attacks once again.
Matip wastes no time...getting himself booked. Hwang cleverly spins away from the defender, who felt that a quick tug was the right option, not for the first time.
Peeep! There is 45 minutes left in the 2021/22 season, and the title fight is still in the balance. Incredible!
OK, players are back out for the second half and Thiago has not made an appearance. James Milner takes his place.
That other injury we saw means that Sa is replaced in the Wolves goal by Ruddy.
Half-time musings
Well, there was a really simple script to follow at Anfield and the Etihad, and both of the league's best teams have decided they want to give the viewing public a little more drama.
An early Wolves goal here surprised everyone but after peppering Sa's goal for most of the rest of the half, an equaliser was always likely for Liverpool. That they are not yet in the lead is possibly the most concerning aspect for Klopp, along with the injury late in the half to Thiago.
City, meanwhile, went into the break a goal down to Steven Gerrard's VIlla, thanks to Matty Cash.
Can the Villians avoid defeat? Can the Reds find the next goal? It's not a good situation if you're of a nervous disposition.
Those announced four minutes were always likely to be too short and we're into the sixth, but then the whistle comes.
Nothing of note in the play to mention in the last 10 or so, but the injuries to Sa and Thiago could prove costly, in different ways.
Those delays have taken the sting out of the game and Liverpool's intensity.
Now Thiago is limping, and has to leave the field, but no substitution is being made given the whistle is about to blow. I can almost hear the Real Madrid fans getting excited from here!
We're officially into added-on time but I can't yet tell you how much. They're still working it out.
There we have it, four (only?) added minutes.
Sa is down and rubbing his left knee. The trainers are brought on while reserve keeper Ruddy is warming up. Given the stop earlier in the game, we should have quite a few minutes still to play.
Let's see if he continues...
Salah has been seen warming up. Emotions are clearly running really high right now.
Wolves begin to knock the ball around their defence and, unusually, the hosts choose not to press. Finally the Reds regain possession and then waste if with an unnecessary offside for Trent.
Liverpool fans react to that news but even if City lose, the Reds have to win.
Mané has a decent headed chance to help that cause but it's too close to Sa. Then on the break Hwang has a one-on-one with Alisson and the Brazilian wins it, a great touch taking it wide of the post. A let off.
Interesting news from Manchester. Let's whisper it together... Aston Villa have scored
More silky stuff from the Reds. Thiago, Diaz and then Mané just love to make the ball do things even the ball must enjoy.
The Senegalese forward cut inside with a lovely meg before trying a curling effort from the edge of the area. A big deflection carries it through harmlessly into Sa's arms.
The pressure on the Wolves defence is constant. Alexander-Arnold is fine-tuning his crossing for next week's Paris final and almost lands one plum on Jota's head, right in front of goal.
There's no doubt that the visitors will remain a threat on the break, but they need to survive this onslaught first.
It's breathless here!! I'm so glad I took that touch-typing course!!
Mané almost provides the perfect ball in for Diaz to run onto but it's just intercepted. Then a Jota run and a Trent strike are foiled before Robertson's volley flies over Sa's crossbar.
It's all one-way traffic now, actually it mainly has been since the start, as Liverpool chase down the all-important next goal.
A reminder that the Reds need a win here to have any chance of the league title.
It's still 0-0 in Manchester.
GOAL!! Mané levels things up
Thiago allows the ball to out of defence, with a subtle touch, to run throw to the Senegal international and he sprints on towards goal before tucking home.
There will be no let up now!
Quite a period of stoppage here as Hwang eventually comes on to replace the injured goalscorer. That's likely to push the time syncs of game off a little.
Oh my!! Dendoncker has a chance to double the lead.
Another long pass down the left over the home defenders, followed by a slick low ball across. The Belgian shapes his foot at the near post but just gets the angle wrong, much to the collective relief around this stadium.
The noise here is rising fast. A slight shock at going down in three minutes has been put behind the local support and their heroes are responding. Keita the latest to get a shot away from close range (blocked) and then Jota almost manages to get through the crowd.
Dominant enough from Klopp's side but Wolves have something to hold onto and the counter is always a threat.
Another lovely move from the hosts, who are quickly stepping up the pace knowing what's at stake here, Robertson sliding the ball down the inside channel to Diaz whose pace gets there before it goes out of play.
As Sa faces him up at the front post the Colombian drills a low pass across goal but there's no one there to tap home.
More nice wing-play from Wolves, this time on the left but Alisson is aware of the danger and collects.
Immediately the Reds go on the attack and Diaz is set free, his first touch allowing Sa the chance to come out and prevent any shot. Some faint calls for a penalty. It wasn't.
As Jota tries to dribble his way through the Wolves defence, but is outnumbered and thwarted, it's worth remembering what I said earlier in the feed. The Reds have returned more points after going a goal down than any other side in the league.
As Liverpool attempt to make quick amends, a cracking Diaz ball in from deep on the right is nodded just wide by Matip. If only they'd swapped roles there.
GOAL!! Neto taps home for the visitors
It's awful judgement from Konate who allows the ball to float over him. The early cross is perfect and the striker makes no mistake. Not the script.
A cagey start as Liverpool begin to stretch their legs. A nice cross from Robertson is teasing but too far from incoming heads.
The whistle goes and we are off.
Anfield sings
Right, it's almost time for the action here.
A lifelong fan, Ian Hardie, has been in touch and says the atmosphere is incredible. Have fun, Ian!

Liverpool vs Wolves: attached stats
The Reds are clear favourites with the bookmakers for this match and no wonder given that they have made Anfield a fortress and have won the last seven against Wolves.
Another thing to note: if Liverpool were to fall behind in this game, fans shouldn't worry too much. Klopp's resilient team have the best record in the league after conceding first.
Raúl Jiménez will be looking to cause some problems with Van Dijk out of the Reds' backline, but how many chances will they be able to create?
Did you ever stop to wonder if any team had been in the English top flight since its inception? Or what about those since 1992 when the Premier League was born?
Well, for those that think about these type of things, I pulled a little summary together, actually sparked by the fact that Liverpool almost lost their rival, Everton.
The Wolves are out their den
A nice warm welcome for the visitors as they head off to their away changing room. Not a whole lot for Wolves to play for in terms of league position but these are professional athletes who will want to show their best before hitting the beach.

Smiles, focus and airpods
The Liverpool lads arrived a short while ago and here they are entering Anfield. I'd suspect there are no particular nerves in them veins right now but as we get closer to kick off the tension may build.
They know that they just have to do their job today. The rest will take care of itself.

Since the Premier League began in 1992, seven clubs have won the title.
The most dominant team in Premier League history is Manchester United, who haven’t won the league title since 2013. Between 1992 and 2013, United lifted the trophy on 13 occasions under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Here's a look at just who has been picking up the title over the years, and how Liverpool have fared pre- and post- the league brand change.
No Divock Anfield swansong
Despite very much becoming a squad player, Divock Origi became somewhat of a fan cult hero with Liverpool.
He somehow managed to be in the right place at the right time to score some truly crucial late goals for the Reds - think Everton, think Barça, think UCL final, to name just a few - and was loved for his attitude towards the club and supporters.
Sadly, though, a slight muscle problem is keeping him out of a farewell game today.
Turning the city red
The Liverpool fans are in party mood and, to be fair to them, even if things go as expected and they don't win the league, it's still a record-breaking season to celebrate.
The club has already announced that there will be a parade on Sunday 29 May (following the Champions League final the night before) as they have, at least, two new pieces of silverware to show off, as well as an unprecedented 63-game journey to acknowledge.

Liverpool legend hoping to cause an upset
Steven Gerrard goes down in Liverpool history as one of the greatest players to represent the club. One of his biggest regrets is that he never won the Premier League during his playing career at Anfield.
As fate would have it, today he has a chance to win it for them against City. It's a big ask, but here's what he had to say ahead of the game.

Liverpool XI: a look at the starting line-up
What do you think of Klopp's choice, Reds fans?
Clearly, unlike other managers, the German still has a huge game ahead of him and will not want to lose any key players.
With the likes of Salah, Van Dijk and Fabinho trying to get back to full fitness ahead of the Parisian showdown with Madrid, it's no surprise to see them take a back seat, the Brazilian not even on the bench.
Is it the strongest Liverpool XI? No. Is it a strong enough XI to deal with a Wolves side that haven't been in great form of late? It certainly should be.
We're under an hour to kick off now so not long until we find out.
Starting XI - Wolves
Sa, Gomes, Coady, Boly, Ait Nouri, Moutinho, Neves, Dendoncker, Otto, Neto, Jimenez

Team news is incoming. The hosts up first...
He's not everyone's cup of tea, but most neutrals I know rather enjoy the cut of this German's jib.
After beating Southampton on Tuesday, Klopp - who had nine of the players who helped win in the FA Cup Final on penalties against Chelsea out - was full of praise for his squad depth. The Reds went home with the win, 2-1.
“Wow! These boys, it’s like having Ferraris in the garage, and then you let them out and they directly do it like this,” said Klopp.
Don't forget the Wolves
Although much of today's focus is, rightly, on the hosts, Wolves need attention too.
They will not be wanting to be steamrollered by their illustrious hosts... but then again, think of the party they could enjoy if everything does turn out well for the Reds.

Liverpool: what a team
They may very end up taking second place behind Man City today, but Jürgen Klopp has built an impressive team over recent years, and with a budget a long way short of their main rivals.
The club's social media account have put this compilation together to remind fans of the ride they've been on.

Premier League final day
As is customary, all final games in the Premier League are played at the same time, and that is especially more important today with so much still to decide.
Not only do we have the title race going down to the wire, there are also European places to be decided and even relegation is not yet clear. What a day ahead and my colleague David Nelson will be bringing you an entertaining 'as it happens' feed until everything is concluded.
