Luka Modrić will be a Real Madrid player next season, after signing a new deal with the European champions.

The Spanish club have announced a new deal for their 36-year-old midfielder. Modric, who was capped for the 150th time with Croatia on Monday, has put to paper on a deal until 30 June 2023.

Madrid’s squad is shaping up nicely ahead of the new season. The club recently confirmed the signing of Germany international Antonio Rüdiger, who has signed until 2026.

Los Blancos will shortly announce the official signing of Aurélien Tchouaméni from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco for a fee in the region of €80 million plus around €20 million in add-ons.

Invaluable experience

Modric will turn 37 on 9 September, meaning this could be his last year as a Real Madrid player.

He will continue to provide invaluable guidance and advice to the club’s younger midfielders, including Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde.
