Atlético have spent the past few months planning the squad for next season. The midfield is a key area that needs strengthening for Simeone and according to Sky Sports, Borussia Dortmund’s Mahmoud Dahoud has precisely the kind of characteristics that El Cholo is looking for - an experienced player with quality who would be well within the club’s budget. There is a strong possibility that Dahoud, Syrian-born but with German nationality, could join on a free transfer as his contract is up at the end of June.
