Manchester City team news for Champions League clash with Bayern Munich
Pep Guardiola could be able to call on Phil Foden for the game after the England international returned to City training.
Manchester City fly to Germany for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
City won the first leg 3-0 last week and hold the advantage going to the Allianz Arena in Munich.
Foden returns to training
Pep Guardiola could be able to call on Phil Foden for the game after the England international returned to City training.
Foden has been out of action since the March international break after pulling out of the England squad due to appendicitis. After undergoing surgery, the City creator is now set for a return to action.
After only one training session, however, it remains unknown if he will feature in the quarter-final clash or even travel to Munich with the squad.
No injury concerns for City
Guardiola has had the benefit of having all his players train as his side enters a crucial stage of the season.
City are currently operating on three fronts. They are moving closer to catching Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, in the FA Cup semi-finals and have one foot in the Champions league semi-finals with their 3-0 lead over Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern.
First-leg win over Bayern
City won the first leg against Bayern with a fine display at the Etihad Stadium and goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.
The Premier League side will take on either Chelsea or Real Madrid in the last four of this year’s Champions League.
