Carlo Ancelotti will face his former assistant and one of his former players when Real Madrid go head-to-head with Chelsea on Tuesday. Paul Clement and Frank Lampard will be sitting in the opposite dugout for the Champions League quarter-final second leg in London.

Clement was Ancelotti’s assistant in 329 matches and now, they will meet again where it all began, at Stamford Bridge. Ancelotti was Chelsea manager for two seasons (2009-10 and 2010-11), where he won a Premier League title, the FA Cup and the Community Shield.

Clement at Chelsea

They briefly parted ways in 2011, when with Ancelotti without a team, Clement opted to become Steve Kean’s assistant at Blackburn Rovers. He only lasted 16 games at Ewood Park.

The Italian coach was appointed by PSG, when he called Clement, who was his assistant for the 76 games he managed at the Parc des Princes. From there, the pair went to Madrid, where they worked together for two seasons (2013-14 and 2014-15).

Clement won Real Madrid’s tenth Champions League title with Ancelotti, and he is now Lampard’s assistant manager at Chelsea.
