Manchester United announce the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid
Brazil international Casemiro joins Manchester United from Real Madrid on a deal until 2027.
Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid. The Brazilian and Los Blancos have accepted the offer that came in from Old Trafford and the midfielder is leaving what has been his home since 2013. The player will leave shortly on a flight to Manchester to be presented by the Premier League club. Madrid will receive around €70m (fixed) for the player, who will turn 31 in February.
Joining Ten Hag at Old Trafford
United are hoping Casemiro can have an immediate impact on Erik ten Hag’s side, who currently sit bottom of the Premier League. With his departure, Madrid’s famous midfield trio with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos has been broken, the Bermuda Triangle as Carlo Ancelotti himself called it on preseason. Since learning that United were interested in Casemiro, Madrid have been studying the market looking for possible replacements. As reported by AS, they have sounded out the possible signing of Bruno Guimaraes, one of Newcastle’s best players.
Casemiro leaves Real Madrid with an impressive track record: Five Champions Leagues, three league titles, one Copa del Rey, three Club World Cups, three European Super Cups and three Spanish Super Cups. His last title came on 10 August in Helsinki, when Madrid won the Super Cup and he earned himself the Man of the Match award.
