Manchester United have sights set on Hirving Lozano
United have been going through a difficult patch and are looking at ways of reinforcing the squad.
Manchester United have had their fair share of ups and downs this season. The team is currently fifth in the Premier League table and already nine points off the lead. Faced with such a situation, the club is already thinking about the winter transfer market and has several footballers in mind - one of them is Hirving Lozano.
According to various European sports media, the 13-time Premier League winners are keen to secure the services of the Mexican striker. There has even been some speculation that Napoli would not deny the player the chance to seek his first experience in England, so negotiations could begin.
Last summer, United tried to accommodate Cristiano Ronaldo’s wishes to move on. It was rumored that the club made a proposal to Napoli - Cristiano in exchange for ‘Chucky’. However, the transaction did not materialize and United ended up signing Brazilian winger Antony from Ajax.
It’s unlikely that Lozano will be moving on in January, but if the signing does materialize, he would have the full support of manager Erik ten Hag. In the meantime, he is focusing on making the list in Gerardo Martino’s Mexico squad for the Qatar World Cup.
Only one Mexican soccer player has played for Manchester United - Javier Chicharito Hernández, who was at Old Trafford from 2010 until 2015. The former Chivas player ended with two Premier League winners’ medals and three in the Community Shield.
