Tigres were beaten 1-0 at home by Rayados in the 129th edition of the Clásico Regio, an undeserved result according to coach Marco Ruiz. The Tigres boss said he was hurt by the situation, however, there is no other way around it than to turn the page and move forward.

“I’m hurt - the whole team is. The result does not reflect what the team did on the pitch, we did not deserve that result, we have to turn the page, we have time to work and put things right. I know what it means to lose a Clásico, I have experienced many of them over the years and this hurts. I’m sorry for the fans,” he told reporters after the game.

The highly experienced coach assured that he had no doubts about the work he has been doing with the team, but also acknowledged that it is necessary to improve certain areas.

“You [the press] might have doubts, but I don’t. Since the day I arrived, I have only felt support and I dedicate myself to my work, without paying any attention to what is being said outside of the club. I dedicate myself to my job, the group is united, strong. I have said that I like to talk about realities and the reality is that we are in the next phase of the Conca and within the qualification zone. What is left to improve? Yes, a lot of work and that is what we are going to do,” he said.

“The team is generating chances, it functions well going forward,”he continued. “But we need to make the most of those chances - that’s something we still need to work on. I am not going to hide behind anything - there has not been time to sort everything out but we have to keep plugging way, strengthen the weak areas and improve. We have to make the players see that this does not have to generate mistrust in us. It’s the opposite, we need to close ranks and go forward as they have always done”.

When asked about Fernando Gorriarán’s injury, Chima explained that he is waiting for the medical report, and hopes that it’s not something serious: “He ended the game with a problem, I don’t have the report yet. They doctors will take a look at him and we hope that he is fine”, he ended.
