Kylian Mbappé is planning on leaving PSG in January according to reports in France. The bombshell news was broken by RMC Sport’s Daniel Riolo on Monday and confirmed today by Le Parisien. Apparently, the striker feels betrayed by Al Khelaïfi and Antero Henrique and feels that they have not fulfilled the promises that they made when the player renewed his contract with the club back in May.

The France international believes that the club made him a series of promises which have failed to materialise. Firstly, the transfer market. Khelaïfi promised to sign several players (Tchouameni, Dembélé...) none of whom ended up joining PSG and as a result, did not give the current Ligue 1 champion the expected qualitative leap they needed after a season to forget - particularly in the wake of the disaster of their Champions League exit to Real Madrid.

Another of the promises that PSG made to Mbappé was the departure of Neymar. There was no place for the Brazilian in the club’s vision for the new campaign. While Mbappé did not oppose Neymar’s departure, nor did he ask management directly to put him on the market. According to Le Parisien, Luis Campos, who was signed precisely to bring Mbappé closer to agreeing a new deal, will leave if the superstar striker leaves in January - a scenario which as things stand, looks unlikely.
