Messi contacts player in effort to sign him to Inter Miami
The Argentine star and David Beckham reportedly contacted Germán Berterame to convince him to join Inter Miami.

Just when Rayados looked to have found their goal scorer for the present and the future, MLS has shaken the club: Germán Berterame is being pursued by Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
The Florida side are interested in signing the naturalised Mexican striker, and Messi himself has approached Germán to try to convince him to join.
While the deal is not yet finalised, Berterame is interested in accepting the proposal and moving to US football alongside the Argentine star with an eye on the 2026 World Cup.
At present, Berterame is playing in the Clausura 2026 with Rayados, where he is an important figure in Domènec Torrent’s team. During 2025 he was one of the club’s top scorers, netting a total of 27 goals across all competitions he played in.
It is also worth noting that Germán is competing for a place in the Mexican national team. He has even been included in Javier Aguirre’s most recent call-ups and has seen playing time.
If his departure is completed, Rayados will have to enter the market in search of a new striker, and time is tight, as the transfer window closes on 9 February.
