Messi’s new Miami home has a problem nobody expected
Inter Miami struck twice but could not protect the lead, leaving its new home still waiting for a first signature victory.

Inter Miami’s new stadium still has not seen The Herons take all three points. After its grand opening a week ago, the venue once again welcomed Lionel Messi and company, but once again the Florida side had to settle for a draw, this time a 2-2 result against the New York Red Bulls.
What a play from 18-year-old Julian Hall 😮💨

Once again, the home team fell behind before the 20-minute mark. On a perfectly executed counterattack led by Julian Hall, former Pumas player Jorge Ruvalcaba found himself alone inside the box and only had to slot his finish past the goalkeeper.
Just seconds before halftime, Inter Miami found the equalizer. A perfect cross from Rodrigo De Paul gave fellow Argentine Mateo Silvetti the chance to meet it cleanly and level the game for the hosts.

Germán Berterame, a Mexico national team player, stepped up to score his first MLS goal for Inter Miami. After a strong driving run from Lionel Messi, the former Monterrey striker finished across the goalkeeper and into the net.
But the team from the Big Apple refused to go away, and with Hall, an 18-year-old who became their standout performer on the afternoon, the Red Bulls found a late equalizer. The New York-born teenager made an excellent play inside the box and fired in a powerful cross that found Adri Mehmeti’s foot to bring the game level once again.
Inter Miami is still looking for its first win in its new home and, after the final whistle, sat third in the Eastern Conference, while the Red Bulls were in seventh place.
