Mexico provide update after Javier Aguirre’s hospital visit ahead of USMNT clash

The Mexican national team coach went for a medical check-up with Dr. Rafael Ortega.

Alarm bells went off at the Mexican National Team. Javier Aguirre was seen at hospital this morning, and after a series of reports, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) informed that there was, despite concerns, nothing to worry about and the visit was simply regarding a medical checkup after a back surgery he underwent in September.

Through their social media channels, the Mexican National Team announced the following: “We inform that our manager, Javier Aguirre, went this morning to the clinic of his friend, Dr. Rafael Ortega, to undergo a follow-up study after the back surgery he underwent last month.”

They added that “Javier is doing well” and that he will be present at the game against the United States in his normal capacity as coach.

After that, Aguirre went to the training hotel in Guadalajara, where Mexico will face the United States tonight at the Akron Stadium. Upon leaving the hospital, El Vasco that he is feeling well and is ready to be on the bench for the tough tie against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The match will take place this Tuesday, October 15, at 8:30 p.m. ET. at Estadio Akron in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The USMNT-Mexico game will be broadcast on TNT and will be available to stream on MAX. You can also follow Mex vs. USA live stream on FuboTV.
