Mexico striker Santi Giménez ranked second for goals and assists combined in top European leagues
The former Cruz Azul attacker has been in lethal form for Feyenoord this season and is behind only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane.
Mexican striker Santi Giménez has become one of the hottest properties in European soccer over the course of the last few months, with his fantastic early-season form for Dutch club Feyenoord reportedly attracting the attention of both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
How many goal contributions does Giménez have in 2023-24?
The former Cruz Azul youngster has scored 13 goals in 10 Eredivisie matches this term and has also provided three assists, which means he ranks second on the list of players with most goal contributions in Europe’s top 15 leagues.
Kane quick off the Bundesliga mark with Bayern
Only Bayern Munich frontman Harry Kane is ahead of Giménez at the top of the list after a lightning start to this time in Germany, the England captain netting 12 goals and laying on five more in his first nine Bundesliga appearances. The German top-flight also provides the player ranked third, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy. The Guinean attacker has scored more goals than anyone else (14) but assisted only one.
Pavlidis matching Giménez in the Netherlands
Despite his superb form, Giménez is not, incredibly enough, the man with the best goal-to-game ratio in the Eredivisie. That honour, as it stands, goes to AZ Alkmaar’s Vangelis Pavlidis, who has also found the net 13 times but has played one match fewer. Another striker from the Dutch league, PSV Eindhoven’s Luuk de Jong, is also in the top 10 with eight goals and six assists.
Lurking not too far behind the Mexican are some of European soccer’s “big” names, including Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, Lautaro Martínez of Inter and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.
