Poland talisman Lewandowski saw his 58th-minute penalty saved by Ochoa.

Vega, from outside the area, comes across the ball and it flies high and wide. Glik was quite reluctant to get in the way of that one.
A win for either side would give them a huge advantage in Group C after Argentina's defeat earlier today. And there is still plenty of time.

Poland have not beaten Mexico since 1978, the only time the teams met at a World Cup. And the last time they played each other was in 2017 when Wolves striker Raúl Jiménez scored in a 1-0 win for Mexico.
Lewandowski will be absolutely kicking himself. He has been on fire for Barcelona this season but couldn't give his side the lead in Doha.
His penalty was low and hard but wasn't right in the corner.

Poland will need a huge improvement this half if they want to win the game. Mexico were dominate in the opening 45' but failed to create many chances.

As things stand in Group C, Saudi Arabia are top after their shock win over Argentina earlier today.
Mexico have just about edged it. Despite having the majority of the ball, they have failed to really test Szczesny in the Poland goal.

Szczesny's goalkick comes off Herrera's head and its a throw to Poland. It remains 0-0. Poland are happy to play it about at the back. Mexico have looked to get in behind them but have so far failed to break Michniewicz's side down.
Robert Lewandowski is playing his 135th game for Poland today. It's a record for the national team.
Lewandowski is also the top scorer in the squad with 76 goals.

It's an emotional one
The Mexico players have been feeling just how big of an occasion the World Cup is.
It's a high foot from Mexico forward Henry Martin. Poland have a free out. The Club America forward is not happy with that decision.
In the 2018 World Cup, Mexico were knocked out in the round of 16. Tata Martino will be aiming to go one better this time around, to silence all of his critics.
Glik tries to clear a cross from the right but he slices it up into the air. Szczesny comes off his line to claim. Mexico have been the more positive of the two sides in the opening twenty minutes.
Sanchez gets down the right once again but this time finds himself in an offside position. 0-0
This is a crucial fixture for both sides after Argentina's shock defeat to Saudi Arabia earlier today.
Sanchez flies down the right flank but his touch lets him down and it's possession Poland once again.

Guillermo Ochoa is a legend of Mexican football and this is his fifth World Cup.
Having played in Europa with clubs like Málaga and Granada, he'll provide a wealth of experience for Tata Martino's side. He's 37 and currently plies his trade with Mexican giants América.
Lewandowski, the danger man
Poland's talisman Robert Lewandowski scored nine goals in the World Cup qualifiers and the Barcelona striker has been in fine form this season, netting 18 times in 19 games in all competitions.
Today’s clash at Stadium 974 will be overseen by Australian referee Chris Beath.
Beath has been an international match official since 2011 and was appointed as one of the inaugural video assistant referees (VAR) in 2017 in the Hyundai A-League, the first top-tier football league in the world to implement the technology.

Martino: "Poland clash will be crucial"
It’s no secret that the Mexico vs Poland result will have a huge impact on both teams in Group C.
El Tri’s coach Gerardo Martino admitted that the team will be seeking to improve their previous seven tournament performances which have seen them eliminated in the round of 16 on each occasion.
Mexico have won their opening group game in five of the last six World Cups and they have not lost an opening group clash on the biggest stage since 1994.
“We are expecting to play our three group stage matches the same way. That will depend on the rival’s game plan, too. Tomorrow’s match is going to be crucial for us”, Martino admitted.
