Update:

The MLS could lose one of its stars in January. One of the biggest names in the North American league is attracting interest from Europe ahead of the winter transfer window.

Diego Rossi, one of the standout players for the Columbus Crew, could reunite with his former coach Wilfried Nancy. According to reports in Scotland, the French manager, who now coaches Celtic, is keen to bring in players who are already familiar with his system.

Rossi has recorded 77 goals and 37 assists in 187 MLS appearances. Last season, he produced 19 goals and five assists across all competitions.

According to the Scottish newspaper Sunsport, Nancy is looking to strengthen his attack following the departures of Kelechi Iheanacho and Callum Osmand, while Johnny Kenny has failed to convince the manager so far.

Rossi would not be the only player on Celtic’s shortlist. The same report claims that Palestinian forward Wessam Abou Ali, who recently moved to the United States, is also on Nancy’s radar.

Nancy received a boost ahead of Christmas after securing his first win since taking charge, with Celtic beating Aberdeen 3–1. That victory came after a run of four consecutive defeats.
