On Tuesday 19 December 2023, the 25th edition of the MLS SuperDraft will begin. This significant day for American soccer will see nearly 400 young players declare themselves eligible for the 29 MLS franchises, who will seek to find the next great star.

Each team in the league will make their selections in reverse order of their finish in the previous season. This will see the team that finished last, Toronto FC, have the privilege of choosing the first player in the SuperDraft, a format commonly used in other American leagues like the NFL and NBA.

MLS SuperDraft 2024: how many rounds are there?

This time, the MLS SuperDraft will consist of three different rounds. In the same order, each franchise will choose players who are still available from the complete list three times. All players on this list have completed at least their sophomore year in college.

With each franchise having three picks and 29 franchises participating in the Draft, a total of *checks calculator* 87 young talents will be selected during this event. Those who do not get the chance to join an MLS roster might become undrafted players in the future or present themselves in future Drafts if they meet the requirements.

Eligibility requirements information:

- Players who are currently college students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years

- Previously, only juniors and seniors, along with Generation Adidas signings, were eligible

- College players can also sign Generation Adidas contracts (freshmen and above)
