MLS vs Liga MX: Leagues Cup round of 16 teams, matchups, dates

The penultimate day of the group stage of the Leagues Cup 2024 took place on Monday, yielding some surprising results. As the end of the Round of 32 approaches, the matches are shaping up to be very exciting in this competition that pits MLS against Liga MX in North America.

Club América, the two-time champion of the Mexican first division, and Columbus Crew, the winner of the 2023 season in the North American league, have already secured their spots in the Round of 32. Both teams met their opponents today: Las Águilas will face Atlas, while The Crew will go up against Sporting Kansas City.

These matchups were determined as Toluca won its group (West 4) and Houston Dynamo topped its own (West 8). As group leaders, the Red Devils will play against the team from ‘Space City,’ as established by Leagues Cup. An interesting clash awaits them in the Round of 16, where they will face the winner of the Colorado Rapids vs. FC Juárez match.

Other notable fixtures include Austin FC vs. Inter Miami, Toronto FC vs. Seattle Sounders, LA Galaxy vs. Tigres UANL, Pachuca vs. Orlando City, and Cruz Azul. The last group to define the teams advancing to the Round of 32 is East 5, which includes New England Revolution, Nashville SC, and Mazatlán FC.
