Necaxa submit multi-million dollar offer for Argentine pearl
Los Rayos placed a formal proposal for an Independiente player who impressed on loan at Barracas Central.

Necaxa has made another move in the transfer market, setting its sights on one of the most promising young talents in Argentine soccer. Los Rayos have submitted an offer of roughly $1.5 million for Javier Ruiz, a player owned by Independiente de Avellaneda, with the intention of signing him on a permanent deal.
Ruiz, 21, can play as an attacking midfielder or as a left winger. He’s coming off an impressive stint at Barracas Central, where he spent the season on loan and emerged as one of the breakout players of 2025.
During that run, he appeared in 44 matches, scored 5 goals, and added 6 assists — numbers that caught the attention of several clubs. Necaxa, which had already been tracking him through the Pachuca Group network, is among the most serious contenders.

Ruiz keen to move on
Independiente initially planned to keep Ruiz for the current season and even considered improving his contract to convince him to stay. But the situation took a sharp turn when the player stopped showing up to training, citing unpaid wages. That led the club to remove him from the first team. Soon after, Independiente confirmed that Ruiz had expressed his desire to leave.

No more loan deals
Given the circumstances, Independiente’s stance is firm: they will not accept another loan deal and will only negotiate a full transfer. Alongside Necaxa, Peñarol has also shown interest, though talks have not progressed.
Ruiz, who is under contract until 2029, is waiting for an offer that would allow him to continue his career abroad. Independiente, meanwhile, says it’s still open to renegotiating his deal if he chooses to stay — but they also acknowledge that a bid meeting their financial expectations, such as Necaxa’s, could finally break the deadlock.
