New Mexico kit for 2024-25 goes on general sale
Green is no longer the main color in Mexico’s two new kits which the team will wear them for the first time in the Nations League.
The return of green as the primary color in Mexico’s national team first kit lasted just under two years. El Tri introduced the two new designs, home and away kits, which the team will use through 2024 and next year. The new Adidas-produced kits will go on sale starting Thursday 14 March.
Mexico to show off their new kit next week
The national team will wear its new colors in the Final Four of the Concacaf Nations League, starting with next week’s semi-final clash against Panama, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
The home jersey features a pattern that emulates the plumage of a peacock. The predominant color is red, although it also has features in both green and black. The national team badge is white on a brown background. Meanwhile, the away jersey is primarily white, with bright green details, and an Aztec art-inspired texture that honors the country’s pre-Hispanic heritage.
The goalkeeper’s jersey is black with a dynamic red slash motif. Three yellow stripes feature on both shoulders while the crest and Adidas logo are both yellow. It also features graphic elements in blue and light grey.
The official presentation event was held south of Mexico City and attended by Mexico head coach Jaime Lozano, Ivar Sisniega, executive president of the FMF; Juan Carlos Rodríguez, general commissioner of the FMF, Jared Borgetti and Luis Hernández as well as several former ‘Tri’ players and a member of the present squad - Cruz Azul winger Rodrigo Huescas.
