Where will Mexico play on MexTour 2024? Dates, opponents, host cities

In the next six months Jaime Lozano’s team will be playing five fixtures in the United States, taking on some of the world’s best international sides.

Update:
Mexico confirm US schedule for MexTour 2024

The Mexican national team endured a chaotic 2023. Diego Cocca was named head coach in February but was dismissed in June after a poor performance at the CONCACAF Nations League Finals. He was replaced by Jaime Lozano who immediately improved the team’s fortunes and led them to a Gold Cup triumph.

Lozano has undoubtedly brought about an uplift in performances but, as El Tri prepare for their first competitive fixtures of 2024, Mexico have a busy year ahead of them.

Later this month there’s a CONCACAF Nations League semi-final against Panama and, Lozano will hope, a final to follow soon after. Mexico are competing in this summer’s expanded Copa América and will be expected to progress from their group as a minimum.

In addition to a busy competitive calendar El Tri have a series of friendly fixtures in the United States, known as the ‘MexTour’. Here are the five games currently scheduled for Mexico in the US.

MexTour fixtures 2024

  • Bolivia (May 31) - Soldier Field, Chicago
  • Uruguay (June 5) - Empower Field, Denver
  • Brazil (June 8) - Kyle Field, College Station
  • New Zealand (September 7) - Rose Bowl, Pasadena
  • Canada (September 10) - AT&T Stadium, Arlington

Across those games Mexico will take on some of the most feared international sides in the world. Brazil are genuine heavyweight opponents and boast the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrigo and Gabriel Martinelli. They also face Uruguay, who are second only to Argentina in CONMEBOL’s World Cup qualification standings for 2026.

These MexTour fixtures will give El Tri supporters in the United States more opportunities to see Lozano’s side in action. Mexico also have at least three US-based games in the summer as part of the Copa América.

With a minimum of eight fixtures in the United States in 2024, American soccer fans have never had such opportunity to catch El Tri in action. If Lozano’s side can build on their momentum from last summer this could be a memorable year for the Mexican national team.
