Neymar asks “Why can’t I do normal things?”

The Brazilian opens up about the strain of life under constant scrutiny while offering pointed praise for two stars he knows well.

Neymar has hit a small bump in the road after not receiving a call-up from Carlo Ancelotti for Brazil’s current window of friendlies. During these days off, the forward has given a glimpse into his everyday life and shared reflections on teammates such as Kylian Mbappé and Casemiro.

On his YouTube channel, Neymar showed what 48 hours of his day-to-day life look like. Surrounded by friends and family, the Brazilian star has a dream life by many standards, but for him it still feels incomplete.

In a complaint that has become familiar at this stage of his life, the Santos player pointed to how difficult it is to deal with the pressure and the opinions coming from the outside: “I have the same feelings as you, I also suffer, I feel pain, I wake up in a bad mood, I cry, I sit, I’m happy, normal. Why can’t I do normal things?” he said, referring to the controversies that arise around his life off the field.

“Mbappé never misses”

In the sequence showing what his Thursday was like, Neymar sat in one of the luxurious rooms in his mansion with a few friends to watch and discuss the friendly between Brazil and France.

After the goal scored by Mbappé in that game, Neymar had high praise for his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate: “He never misses in front of goal.”

Shortly afterward, he also had warm words for a fellow Brazilian: “Casemiro... he plays so well!” said the Santos forward.

To wrap up, he offered a brief comment on the Brazilian national team and on the way he believes a side with so much at stake at the next World Cup should play: “That’s how they have to play. Brazil has to play on the counterattack.”
