Nottingham Forest have been promoted to the Premier League after beating Huddersfield Town 1-0 in Sunday’s Championship play-off final at Wembley.

The match-winning goal came just before half-time when Huddersfield’s Levi Colwill put the ball into his own net following a cross from James Garner.
Before the decider at Wembley, Forest defeated Championship side Sheffield United over two legs for a place in the play-off final.
Forest make Premier League return
Forest, European Cup winners in 1979 and 1980, have spent 23 years out of the Premier League, including three seasons in League One from 2005 to 2008.
When Cooper joined Forest in September 2021, they had collected just one point from their opening seven league matches.
Fulham and Bournemouth had already booked their places in the Premier League for 2022-23 after they finished first and second in the Championship respectively.
Norwich City, Watford and Burnley will spend next season in the Championship following relegation from the Premier League.
