The Red Bull Arena in New Jersey will play host to the final first round fixture in a group featuring Atletico San Luis, NY Red Bulls and New England Revolution.
It’s all to play for in Group O of the Leagues cup, where NY Red Bulls and Atletico San Luis go into the final game of the group stage knowing that the winner will advance to to the knock-out rounds.
The New England Revolution lead the group on four points after playing both of their fixtures. NY Red Bulls are currently on two points and San Luis on zero. The top two finishers in the three-team group will progress to the Round of 32, meaning that the winner on Sunday evening will qualify alongside the Revolution.
Ahead of the crucial fixture, NY Red Bulls head coach Troy Lesesne said that the home crowd will be key if the MLS side are to progress in the inaugural season of the expanded competition.
“Every supporter that’s here, they’re behind us 100 percent. You can feel that energy,” Lesesne told reporters.
