The Spanish midfielder has already said goodbye to his close circle and his move to Rayados is now official.
Sergio Canales has spent the last few days saying his goodbyes to friends and acquaintances in Seville. His departure from Betis is now official. Until today, all that remained was for the Cantabrian midfielder to agree the terms of his contract with Monterrey, as both clubs had reached agreement for his transfer several days ago. Betis and Rayados both officially announced the deal on Monday afternoon.

Leagues Cup: prestige over pennies
Canales joined Betis on a free transfer from Real Sociedad in 2018 and had three years left to run on his contract. He made a total of 207 appearances for the Verdiblancos, scoring 39 goals and playing a part in another 30.
His departure will free up salary space as well as boost funds in the search for his replacement. Atlético Madrid’s Rodrigo Riquelme and West Ham’s Pablo Fornals have both been linked to Manuel Pellegrini’s side in recent weeks.
