Orlando City confirm Nico Lodeiro acquisition
The Lions confirmed the arrival of attacking midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro, who is already an MLS legend after his time at Seattle Sounders.
Orlando City have confirmed one of the biggest signings ahead of the 2024 MLS season with the arrival of two-time league champion and Seattle Sounders legend Nicolás Lodeiro.
The 34-year-old who also has a won the Copa América with Uruguay and a Concacaf Champions League with Seattle arrives at Orlando City as a free agent after his seven year spell with the Sounders came to an end.
Lodeiro moves to Orlando on a one year deal with the option of an additional season (2025) and the player will reinforce Orlando City’s attack and will look to compliment compatriot Facundo Torres.

Lodeiro moves to the Florida club and will look forward to playing against great friend Luis Suárez, who just a few weeks ago was confirmed as Inter Miami’s star signing for the 2024 season.
Orlando City and Inter Miami will play in the Florida derby twice this season, the first of which will be on 2 March at the DRV PNK Stadium, while the Exploria Stadium will host the Tata Martino’s Herons on 15 May.
