Salvador Reyes may not be the only player to leave Club América for Necaxa ahead of the Liga MX’s Clausura 2024 tournament.

Reyes, who is poised to join Necaxa on loan, could be joined at the seven-time Mexican champions by Leo Suárez, who is being linked with a move to the Estadio Victoria.

América, Necaxa discussing Suárez move

According to the soccer journalist César Luis Merlo, who is a specialist in transfer news, América and Necaxa are currently negotiating a deal for Suárez, 27.

“While the two clubs may well reach an agreement, it will all come down to whether or not the player is willing to make the move,” Merlo notes.

Suárez struggling to get into América team

Suárez, who joined América from Spanish LaLiga club Villarreal in 2020, made 17 appearances in Las Águilas’ Apertura 2023 campaign - but only seven of those run-outs came as a starter.

The Argentinian winger scored two goals and supplied three assists during the Liga MX tournament, as América won their 14th domestic championship.

In all, Suárez has registered 12 goals and 12 assists in 87 games for América.
