Pedri reaches milestone with Barcelona: 100 games played
The midfielder is already writing his name in the history books of the Catalan club.
Pedri has reached 100 games for FC Barcelona - feel old yet?
Yes, the 20 year-old is already a Centurion at the Catalan club, after accumulating his 100th game against Girona on match day 19 of the 2022-23 season. He scored the only goal in the 0-1 away win.
The midfielder from Tenerife was given his 100th appearance from the bench after an injury to winger Dembélé forced manager Xavi to shake things up. “The talent he has is extraordinary”, said Xavi in the pre-match press conference, “what Pedri has I’ve only seen in a few footballers.”
Pedri’s debut for FCB came in a pre-season friendly against Tarragona, a 3-1 win for Barcelona. His league debut was against Villarreal, where Pedri came on as a second half substitute in a 4-0 win in September 2020. His first start came a month later, in a 1-0 loss to Getafe.
The midfielder scored his first goal for the club in a Champions League win over Fevencváros, becoming the youngest FC Barcelona player to score in the European competition.
He has played 18 times for the national team but is yet to score. Don’t worry, Pedri, it will come.
