PSG land goalkeeper Arnau Tenas
The Spanish goalkeeper joins as a free agent after his contract with Barcelona expired. He was expressly requested by Luis Enrique.
Luis Enrique now has the goalkeeper he requested at the beginning of the month. On Sunday, PSG announced the signing of Arnau Tenas - the 22-year-old goalkeeper joins on a free transfer after completing his contract with Barcelona. He is the seventh new addition for the Parisians following summer arrivals: Ugarte, Asensio, Lee Kang-In, Skriniar, Lucas Hernández and Ndour.
Negotiations accelerated throughout the week, heklped by the the fact that Tenas and Luis Enrique share the same agent, Iván de la Peña. That made the operation much easier. The Spanish coach wanted a goalkeeper who can use his feet and Tenas, who came through Barcelona’s youth system at La Masía, has excellent technique to adapt to the Asturian coach’s set-up in Paris.
After enjoying a brilliant European Under-21 championship, reaching the final with Spain, Tenas decided to look for new opportunities rather than continue at Barça. In principle, the 20-year-old goalkeeper will be Donnarumma’s substitute at PSG, although he could find himself competing with the Italian, who has left many doubts throughout the pre-season and is not particularly skilled at playing the ball out with his feet.
