One day after a supposed incident between Paris Saint Germain and star player, Kylian Mbappé, Christophe Galtier appeared in front of the media and cleared up the rumours surrounding the misunderstanding between club and player. He did so by confirming there had been an altercation.

Mbappé had expressed his dissatisfaction after the club launched a season ticket campaign with the French striker as the main figure of the advert, without having previously consulted him on the idea. The 56-year-old coach spoke to the press on the eve of the match against Nice in Ligue 1.

Galtier says that ‘the incident has dissipated’

“It is difficult to explain myself on this subject, because it is something that clearly concerns Kylian Mbappé and the club. Kylian was in good shape to train this morning. I saw him smile, despite the fact that he had a small hip problem that will not prevent him from being against Nice tomorrow. I know that there were discussions between the board and the player. The incident, or the misunderstanding, has dissipated,” Galtier said.

Is Galtier’s future at PSG secure?

The PSG coach, who sees himself “legitimised” to continue on the bench next season, also confirmed that Nasser Al Khelaïfi, president of the Parisian side, spoke to the players after appearing at the team’s morning training session at the sports city of Camp des Loges, in Saint-Germain-En-Laye. Despite his confidence, defeat against Nice could put Galtier on the ropes, in a year in which PSG have already lost eight games, four more than in all of 2022.
