Milan beat Spurs

It finishes 0-0 in London but Milan go through after beating Spurs 1-0 in the first leg.

It's all over for PSG

It was a season-defining game and questions will be asked of the PSG board. The Champions League is what they want. They have signed all the big stars but have once again failed to get into the quarter-finals of the competition.

Bayern march on

Bayern dump PSG out of the Champions League.

FT: Bayern Munich 2-0 PSG

Bayern win 3-0 on aggregate and advance to the last 8 of the Champions League.

For the fifth time in seven seasons, PSG are knocked out in the round of 16.

The referee blows his whistle for full-time!

He scores but he's offside.

It was a lovely finish!

There are two minutes left. PSG just want to get on the plane now.

Bayern are winning 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate.

Bayern two goals to the good

It's now 2-0!

Cancelo plays Gnabry through and he finishes superbly to put the game to bed.

Bayern kill PSG on the counter and it's game over.

PSG need not one, but two goals.

Muller goes off to an ovation as the rain comes down in Munich.

Bayern changes

OFF Kingsley Coman
ON Serge Gnabry

OFF Thomas Muller
ON Joao Cancelo

Bayern are about to make another double change.

Hamiki looks to get it out of his feet in the box and pull the trigger. Upamecano has other ideas and wins it off him.

PSG changes

Bayern sub

Ramos wins the header again. His effort goes so close. It's just the wrong side of the post.

Nagelsmann's options on the bench:

Sané, Mané, Cancelo, Gnabry, Mazraoui.

That's not bad at all!

Coman plays it across to Sané but the ball hits his knee and goes out for a goal-kick. Sané has had three chances since coming on but has failed to put the game to bed.

PSG have really struggled to break through the Bayern backline and it's now hard to imagine them scoring the two goals needed.

Galtier puts another 17-year-old on. This time it's Warren Zaire Emery, who only turned 17 today!

PSG change

OFF Fabián Ruiz

ON Warren Zaire Emery

Sané has options but he goes alone and his shot goes wide of the PSG goal.

Sergio Ramos demands more communication from his team-mates. Some of them look frustrated. Messi has been very quiet.

Davies gets back to block Hakimi's cross. That has been a ding-dong battle down the flanks this evening.

PSG need two goals to take this to extra time!

Tonight's goalscorer Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting goes off. Sané will give them another dimension.

Bayern change

OFF Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting

ON Leroy Sané

Sommer saves!

This time it's from Mbappé. The Frenchman is at a tight angle on the left. It's easier for Sommer this time. 1-0

It's a brilliant save by Sommer to deny Ramos' header from the corner.

Sommer denies Ramos!

Bayern take the lead!

It's 1-0 on the night and 2-0 on aggregate.

PSG's defence lets them down once again. It's really now time for Mbappé and Messi to step up.

Muller robs the ball off Verratti before playing in Goretzka, who then plays it across goal to Choupo-Moting. The striker taps it home to give Bayern a crucial goal.

 Choupo-Moting SCORES!!!

Goretzka gets up highest but his header from the corner goes wide. 0-0

Muller fires in a cross from the right. El Chadaille Bitshiabu (17) clears it away. This will be a real test for the young defender.

Mendes goes rolling around. He's now back on his feet as the play continues. Galtier wants a free. The ball eventually goes out and the home fans are furious.

We're back to 0-0!

That decision looks harsh on Bayern. I don't think Choupo-Moting's header touches Muller, who was flagged for offside.

No goal!

The goal has been ruled out for offside!

Choupo-Moting's glancing header flies past Donnarumma. It's going to VAR!

Choupo-Moting SCORES!!!

Goretzka shoots but Choupo-Moting gets in the way!

H2H record

In their last 12 meetings, Bayern have won 6 and PSG have also won 6. There have been no draws.

Vitinha goes on a fine run. Mbappé spins and shoots... His shot is blocked.

El Chadaille Bitshiabu is only 17 and he comes in for PSG.

PSG change

Galtier has made a change at the break:

OFF Nordi Mukiele

ON El Chadaille Bitshiabu

The sub has been subbed.

It's still 0-0 and Bayern are winning 1-0 on aggregate.

Bayern get us going for the second half in Munich.

We're about to get started for the second half.
Bayern Munich vs PSG: who is the referee for the Champions League second-leg tie?

Daniele Orsato is tonight's referee. The Italian official took charge of the 2020 Champions League final in Lisbon, with Bayern beating PSG thanks to a Kingsley Coman goal.

Orsato also officiated the 2021 Champions League quarter-final second leg between Bayern and PSG. The German side won the game at the Parc des Princes 1-0 but the Ligue 1 outfit advanced to the last four thanks to a 3-2 win at the Allianz Arena.

Level at the break

It has been a tense and tight affair.

HT: Bayern Munich 0-0 PSG

It's all square at the break at the Allianz Arena and Bayern hold onto their narrow lead from the first leg.

Musiala had Bayern's best chance. Vitinha should have scored for PSG but De Ligt cleared his shot off the line after Sommer lost the ball in possession.

The referee blows his whistle for half-time.

There will be two additional minutes.

Goretzka does really well to run back and win it off Messi, who was going on a surging run. He just uses his strength and perfect timing to get the ball off the World Cup winner.

Messi clips it over the top for a flying Mbappé. Sommer sprints off his line to collect.

Davies skins Hakimi, but Mukiele clears the Canadian's cross.

There have only been 3 shots on target between the two sides.

De Ligt clears it off the line!

Sommer loses it as he tries to play it out from the back and Vitinha should really score. He rushes his shot and De Ligt slides across the box to keep it out. 0-0

So PSG have been forced into an early change here. It remains 0-0 in Munich. It has been pretty even.

PSG change

OFF Marquinhos

ON Nordi Mukiele

PSG defender Marquinhos is down with a problem and will go off.

Kimmich's low free from the right goes past everyone and into Donnarumma's hands.

Donnarumma keeps Musiala out from a tight angle on the left. It's a fine strike and save.

That is so unlike Musiala. He's in acres of space between the lines but fires his pass into touch.

The ball goes down the right. Ramos stands off Coman, who directs his cross straight at Donnarumma. Coman got the better of Ramos there, who stood off him due to the different levels of speed.

PSG hit Bayern on the counter. Messi sees his shot blocked twice and Sommer then smothers the ball. It's good defending from the German side.

Goretzka flattens Messi. PSG win a free.

Messi has dropped deeper and is starting to get involved more in the build-up. De Ligt is doing a man-marking job on him. It remains 0-0 in Munich.

Mbappé is played in on the right but his first touch lets him down and his shot eventually hits the side netting.

Messi takes the corner on the right. It's not his best and is easily caught by Sommer.

Goretzka finds space about 25 yards from goal... he let's fly but Donnarumma gets down to his left to keep it out. 0-0

Kimmich lifts it into the box, but Verratti clears the danger with his head.

Mbappé slams into Sommer as they go for the ball. Sommer drops the ball after they come together. It's a free out.

In tonight's other game, Tottenham are taking on Milan in London.

Bayern XI

Messi spreads it out to Hakimi, who overhits the cross from the right. It flies out for a goal-kick. Sommer plays it out short.

PSG team

Messi has been very quiet in the opening 10 minutes.

Musiala goes on a driving run through the middle but is eventually stopped in his tracks.

Fabián Ruiz coming in for Neymar gives PSG an extra man in midfield. Galtier's side have improved since he deployed the three-man centre-back system.

Bayern haven't been unbeaten at home since January 2022. That's 23 games.

There is huge pressure on Galtier tonight. PSG have suffered five defeats in their last six Champions League knockout matches. Defeat tonight would not be welcome.

It has been a very lively start here in Munich.

Mbappé gets in behind on the left and sends in a left-footed cross which Sommer claims.

PSG need a goal tonight if they are to take it to at least extra time. With Messi and Mbappé in attack, they have arguably the two best players in the world.

Bayern are in their home colours and PSG are wearing white.

We're underway in Munich!

Messi and Mbappé lead the line for PSG. Neymar has been replaced by Fabián Ruiz and there is also a start for Hakimi.

It has been raining in Munich so it could be slippy out there this evening and add an extra zip.

Bayern make three changes from the side that won in Paris.

It's a packed Allianz Arena in Munich.

PSG have game changers in their side, which gives them a good chance tonight. This is a season-defining match for the sides. Bayern know all about these nights.

Here come the teams!

Bayern won the first leg after Coman scored from an Alphonso Davies cross.

PSG came alive when Mbappé came on in the second half. The Frenchman, making his return from injury, had two goals disallowed. Messi also had a chance but the Ligue 1 side couldn't find the net.

They will have to score tonight if they want to advance to the last 8.

Kick-off is just 10 minutes away!

Bayern have narrow lead

PSG were poor until the last 20 minutes in the first leg but Bayern will be delighted to have held onto a narrow lead and keep out Mbappé when he came on. Overall, Bayern edged it in Paris. It's set up perfectly for the second leg.

Warm-ups commence

PSG have headed out to warm up at the Allianz Arena.
Which Premier League club did Kylian Mbappé reject before joining PSG?

When Kylian Mbappé takes to the field tonight, fans and players alike, especially those in red, will be thinking of the Frenchman’s words after his side’s 1-0 defeat in the first leg.

A German journalist wanted to know which team would be favourites in the second leg, to which Mbappé, without batting an eyelid, replied: “Paris Saint-Germain, always”.

Can PSG do it?

Messi and Co lost to Bayern in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 clash at the Parc des Princes and have it all to do tonight. Will they do it?

Coman does it again

Kingsley Coman netted the winner for Bayern against PSG in the first leg in what was his 50th UEFA Champions League appearance.

It's also the 39th time he's ended up on the winning side, the most wins by a player in their first 50 appearances in the competition's history.

Bayern arrive

The home team is here!
Why PSG can beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League

After three wins in a row and the return of Kylian Mbappé, PSG travel to Germany hoping to turn the tie against Bayern around.

Just under a month ago, PSG had trouble on and off the pitch. The fans were furious and the future was looking far from optimistic.

With three consecutive victories in Ligue 1, the French club have seen a change in fortunes at the most decisive moment of the season. Christophe Galtier’s men travelled to Germany on Monday to prepare for Wednesday’s crucial match against Bayern.

Mbappé is in one of the best spells of his career and is hungry for titles. The French forward overtook Edinson Cavani on Saturday to become PSG’s all-time top scorer.

With 201 goals, he reached a record that looked almost impossible to match not so long ago. After a warm tribute from the Parc des Princes, Mbappé was adamant that they will be travelling to Germany to win the tie.

In the first leg in Paris, Mbappé was a substitute as he was not at 100 per cent, but his introduction turned the game around, scoring a goal that, although disallowed, struck fear into the Bayern defence.

PSG starting XI

Here's the PSG XI:

Donnarumma - Hakimi, Danilo, Ramos, Marquinhos, Mendes - Vitinha, Verratti, Fabián - Mbappé, Messi.

Bayern win first leg in Paris

Bayern dominated the first half in Paris and Choupo-Moting and Kimmich could have put the Bavarians ahead. But they had to wait until the second half to open the scoring, when Kingsley Coman scored from an Alphonso Davies cross.

PSG came alive when Mbappé came on in the second half. The Frenchman, making his return from injury, had two goals disallowed. Nuno Mendes was offside in the buildup to Mbappé's second offside goal. Messi could have equalised late on, but his shot came off Pavard.

Pavard was then sent off for a second yellow and Bayern held onto their narrow lead and are now favourites to advance to the quarter-finals going into the second leg in Munich.
Neymar suffers setback: Will he miss the rest of the season?

On Monday, Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that Neymar will be out of action for the next three to four months.

The Brazil international will undergo ligament repair surgery following several ankle problems in what is a blow for the French club.

PSG fans

There will be just under 4000 PSG fans at the Allianz Arena.
