Pumas unable to reinforce their attack with desired target

Financially, the Liga MX team are restricted. For now, Efraín Juárez will have to make do with the current squad.

Ciudad de México Update:

Pumas UNAM will likely close out the Apertura 2025 season without the star forward they had hoped to sign from Europe. Financial hurdles appear to have derailed any deal, leaving the team from Pedregal with its current roster intact.

According to sources close to the club, the player’s salary demands were simply too steep for Pumas to accommodate.

Efraín Juárez Sticks With Current Squad for Final 11 Matches

Head coach Efraín Juárez will move forward with the team he has at his disposal, as Pumas prepares for the remaining 11 matchdays of the Liga MX season.

One confirmed holdover is Brazilian center-back Nathan Ananias da Silva. Despite interest from Brazil’s Vasco da Gama, the club couldn’t meet the financial requirements to secure the defender’s transfer.

Piero Quispe’s future remains unclear

The only player whose future is still up in the air is Peruvian midfielder Piero Quispe. Once hailed as the top talent in Peru’s domestic league, Quispe has struggled to make an impact in Mexico. His stats have been underwhelming, and it’s uncertain whether he’ll remain with Pumas or move on.
