Pumas vs Chivas, first confirmed Apertura 2023 playoff clash
The Apertura 2023 Liguilla has its first confirmed quarterfinal match, Pumas will face Chivas with the second leg in Ciudad Universitaria.
With two games still left to play in the 2023 Apertura regular season, one of the Liga MX quarterfinals clashes has already been established with future results having no bearing on where Pumas or Chivas end up in the standings.
On Saturday night UNAM recorded a 1-0 win over the side from Guadalajara and consolidated a fourth place finish in the table general, while the rojiblancos fell to fifth position. This match-up will now be repeated in the Liguilla, with the first game being staged at the Estadio Akron and the return game at the Estadio Olimpico Universitario.
When will the Pumas vs Chivas Liguilla game be played?
The quarterfinal home and away games between Pumas and Chivas will have to wait at least a couple of weeks as all clubs now break for the FIFA window and the quarterfinals will be preceded by the new Liga MX play-in with those games scheduled for 22 November.
As things stand the possible dates could be:
- November 29 or 30: Chivas vs Pumas - Akron Stadium, Guadalajara
- December 2 or 3: Pumas vs Chivas - Estadio Olimpico Universitario
