Rafael Carioca set for new deal with Tigres
The Brazilian looks set to sign a new deal.
Rafael Carioca is close to signing a contract extension at Tigres. AS Mexico has learned that the Brazilian midfielder has agreed a one-and-a-half-year extension with the club, meaning that he will end his career at the club he wants.
Three-year deal for Carioca rejected
The talks seem to be on track to meet the request of the South American, who four months ago, together with his agent, fought for his renewal, as his contract expires at the end of June. However, at first, the requests were not approved.
The former Gremio player asked for a three-year extension to the agreement, but the club’s management appear to be gradually convincing both parties to reduce it to half that time.
For the time being, Carioca is on holiday in his native country and if all goes well, he will report on 16 June for preseason ahead of the Apertura 2023.
