Real Madrid freezes ticket prices for fans
The club has published the ticket prices for the first leg of the quarter-final at the Bernabéu.
The tension surrounding the tie between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich is rising by the hour, and the club has already announced ticket sales for the first leg on 7 April at the Bernabéu.
Prices will range from €120 ($142) for the most affordable seats available to the general public, with members receiving a 30% discount on those tickets, to €445 ($525) for the most expensive seats in the Tribune sections on either side of the stadium.
This is the same price range as for the Round of 16 match against Manchester City. Despite this being a quarter-final and a classic European clash with Bayern visiting, Real Madrid has decided to freeze ticket prices.
The sales period will begin on 27 March for season ticket holders. Tickets for the general public will then go on sale on 2 April.
However, for Real Madrid fans who are not season ticket holders, attending the match at the Bernabéu will cost more than double the price of the return leg at the Allianz Arena, where tickets for travelling Madrid supporters will have a single price of €50 ($59). Bayern continues to follow its policy, common across German football, of keeping ticket prices very low. For the areas of the stadium designated for home fans, watching Real Madrid on 15 April in the decisive second leg for a place in the semi-finals will cost between €19 ($22) for the cheapest tickets and €110 ($130) for the most expensive.
Bayern, meanwhile, sold out all but the 3,750 tickets allocated to Real Madrid for the away section, as required by UEFA regulations, in record time. The German club has set the stage for what it hopes will be another edition of the “Hell of Munich.”
