Saturday night turned out to be a rollercoaster of emotions for Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo Goes. Shortly after he had scored two goals to help his team win the Copa del Rey against Osasuna at La Cartuja in Seville, earning the MVP award in the process, burglars broke into and raided his home in the Spanish capital.

When did the burglary take place?

According to EFE, who have been in contact with sources connected to the investigation into the incident, the Spanish National Police were alerted of the break-in during the early hours of Sunday morning by an employee of the private security firm responsible for protecting his home in La Moraleja, an affluent residential district in Alcobendas in the north of Madrid.

Agents went to the Real Madrid’s star home and found that several rooms had been turned upside down, although it has not been revealed exactly what the thieves had made off with. The police are still in the process of the process of collecting evidence, which they hope will allow them to the track down the perpetrators.

Benzema and Carvajal targeted in the past

Rodrygo lives in the house with his parents, who were also in Seville to watch their son star as Real Madrid defeated the men from Pamplona to lift their third trophy of the season. Nobody was at home at the time on the break-in.

It is not the first time this particular modus operandi has been deployed, with the homes of fellow Madrid players Karim Benzema and Dani Carvajal, who live in La Moraleja too, also burgled by organised gangs while they were in action on the field.
