Real Madrid injury update for Osasuna LaLiga Santander game: Benzema, Kroos, Hazard...
Real Madrid prepared for the LaLiga game against Osasuna with some noticeable absentees, just days before they play Liverpool
Circentamaphobia is the fear of revolving doors. We’ve all been there, in that situation, confronted with a revolving door, we are not quite sure what to do. Is it spinning too fast for me to jump in? Is it socially appropriate for me to enter inside someone else’s segment with them? What happens if it stops and I’m inside?
The Real Madrid training ground must have either an incredibly tricky revolving door that has them all stuck inside. That or an incredibly intimidating security person with a strict one-in-one-out policy. Whatever the situation at Valdebebas, the constant quick-fire 20-minute wash cycle of Real Madrid players in the injury room is becoming a theme of the season, and this time they’re going to be without one huge name, potentially even two.
Karim Benzema is the latest to be struck off the squad like an ex from a Christmas card list, telling the team that they’re better off without him; he has reportedly decided that he is not up to scratch to play against both Osasuna and Liverpool in such a short space of time and agreed his decision with boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Kroos under ‘medical supervision’
Toni Kroos missed Real Madrid’s 4-0 win over Elche as he was suffering from gastroenteritis. The midfielder did not train with the squad on Friday either, so he is a doubt for the game against Osasuna, although reports suggest he will be fit to face Liverpool.
Reports from Relevo say that Kroos “has been under constant medical supervision all week” and that “he has lost weight and muscle mass” due to illness.
Return to training for a trio of players
It’s not all bad news for Real Madrid, as goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois returned to the training pitch alongside both Lucas Vázquez and Eden Hazard, although the latter two will probably not feature against Osasuna in what will be a make or break week for Madrid and their campaign.
