Real Madrid appear to be in pole position to sign Palmeiras’ 16-year-old starlet Endrick Felipe, who is interesting a number of major European clubs.

Brazilian media outlet UOL Esporte and the journalist Fabrizio Romano both report that talks over a move to Madrid are at an advanced stage. Indeed, Romano - who is a respected specialist in transfer news - says the Spanish and European champions are out to seal a deal for the forward before the end of the year.

Endrick would join in 2024

Palmeiras are seeking Endrick’s €60m release clause in full. Per UOL Esporte, Madrid are unlikely to pay such an amount up front, but are ready to include a series of incentivised add-ons which, if met, would take the teenager’s fee up to the Brazilian club’s asking price.

Endrick would initially remain on loan at Palmeiras, before moving to the Bernabéu after he turns 18, in July 2024.

The Brazil Under-17 international was due to fly to Spain to visit Madrid’s Valdebebas training base, but this trip has been delayed for unknown reasons. The visit is expected to be rescheduled for a date within the coming weeks.

PSG end interest in Brazilian

Chelsea and Barcelona have also shown an interest in Endrick, while Paris Saint-Germain had a bid rejected last month. However, the Ligue 1 giants have now pulled out of the race to sign the player, Romano reported on Tuesday.

A product of Palmeiras’ youth academy, Endrick made his senior debut for the Verdão in October. The forward has so far made seven league appearances for the club, scoring three goals. He has netted five times in four caps for Brazil Under-17s.
