Real Madrid set to announce Rodrygo’s contract renewal until 2028
After Vinicius’ contract extension was announced, the next player in line to renew is Rodrygo, who will sign until 2028.
Real Madrid waited for the Ballon d’Or gala to be over to uncork the champagne of contract renewals. On Tuesday the first of many was made official, with Vinicius extending his deal until 2027.
And next Thursday it will be the turn of Rodrygo. The Brazilian, like his friend and compatriot Vini, saw his extension agreed upon a year ago and will have a release clause that is a deterrent in itself: €1 billion euros. Rodrygo, however, will see his extension last until the summer of 2028.
Rodrygo (22 years old) is the second on the list of young talents with whom the LaLiga club have been negotiating different agreements to extend their contracts. Militão (25 years old) also has an agreement in place until 2028, as well as Camavinga (20) and Fede Valverde (25).
Real Madrid continue their young squad revolution
In this way, the club from the capital ensure the continuity of the team’s young foundations, adding to the already mammoth contracts of Bellingham (2029, €1 billion release clause) and Tchouaméni, contracted until 2028. with the same standard billion-euro clause.
Although on another level, the club also have players such as Fran García (24 years and contract until 2028) and Dani Ceballos (27 years and signed until 2027), tied down on long-term deals, with the former arriving this summer and the latter renewing during the summer period.
Madrid’s support for Rodrygo in a tough moment
Rodrygo’s renewal, which will have the same look about is as that of Vini, with photos and an official presentation in the box next to the 14 Champions League trophies, is a public vote of confidence in the middle of a strange season for the young forward, who has never had a private lack of support from anyone at the Bernabéu.
His drought in front of goal between match day one and the goal he got against Braga (870 minutes without finding the net) generated debate due to Joselu’s strong performances as a substitute, but Rodrygo has never been a doubt for the club: Ancelotti bet on the Brazilian who repaid him in the Clásico win over Barcelona. And it seems that Madrid and Rodrygo will continue together for much longer.
