Update:

Christian Pulisic will play at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu against Real Madrid after AC Milan were drawn against the 15-time European champions in the draw for Europe’s top club competition.

The Champions League has seen a revolution in how things will work this season, with the group stage scrapped for a new league system. Teams were put into pots and drawn out against various opponents, and they will all compete in a new format that has never been seen before at the highest level of European football.

In the draw, 7-time Champions League winners AC Milan were pulled out by the AI supercomputer to play against Real Madrid in a fixture that pits the two most successful teams in the competition’s history against each other.

Given the nature of the league system, fixtures will not be mirrored with home and away ties, meaning that the Italian side’s only chance to play against their Spanish rivals in the first round will come at the imposing Bernabéu, with Christian Pulisic likely to feature for the Rossoneri.
