Real Madrid “want to sign both Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé in summer 2023”

According to The Telegraph, the reigning Champions League holders will bid for PSG star Mbappé as well as finalising a move for Bellingham.

Real Madrid are looking to make a huge statement in the transfer market, according to The Telegraph. The British newspaper claim the Champions League semi-finalists are planning on signing both Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé this summer, starting a new ‘galactico’ era with a view to dominating European soccer over the next decade.

Madrid in pole position for Dortmund’s Bellingham

Madrid’s desire to snap up England international Bellingham is no secret and they look to be in pole position ahead of Champions League opponents City to sign the midfielder from Borussia Dortmund. There appears to be little chance of the 19-year-old staying in Germany and his own intentions are to make the step up to an ‘elite’ club. Los Blancos, of course, fit the bill.

Mbappé's uncertain future at PSG

Mbappé situation at Paris Saint-Germain is rather different, although what the future holds for him is anyone’s guess at the moment. The France captain turned down a move to Real Madrid last summer and agreed to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes until 2025. However, it has been widely reported that the final year of that deal is optional, which means it could actually run out in 2024. Were that to be the case, PSG, who seem to be at something of a crossroads regarding their long-term ‘project’, would have to sell him this coming summer to avoid losing him for free in 12 months’ time.

Madrid haven’t yet given up hope of persuading Mbappé to make the move to Spain and, say The Telegraph, could make a bid for him this summer in order to put pressure on the Ligue 1 leaders to allow him to leave.
