The good vibes after winning 2-0 against Real Betis are slowly evaporating for Los Blancos. The news of midfielder Dani Ceballos suffering an injury turned smiles into frowns and now, with Tchouaméni on the list of those set to frequent the physio room in the Spanish capital during the international break, brows are also furrowing from the Madrid faithful.

The French midfielder was called up by his national team but has quickly returned to Madrid after suffering an injury that will see him undergo tests at the club’s Valdebebas training ground. Prior to falling to physical issues, Tchouaméni had played in every one of Madrid’s games so far this season.

News of his issue will not bring happy memories for fans or Carlo Ancelotti, who was without the lynchpin for a huge chunk of last season as Tchouaméni struggled to overcome a fatigue fracture injury in his left foot that kept him out for 47 days.

What injury does Tchouaméni have?

As well as that, he missed the final of the Champions League last season, won by Madrid, due to a similar foot injury to the previous one. The bad news for Real Madrid is that the new injury is in the same location, his left foot.

Tchouaméni joins Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos on Madrid’s injury list. While Ferland Mendy is also undergoing treatment for a physical issue having returned home early from national team duty, his injury is thought to be minor.

As things stand, Real Madrid are yet to kick on in the league and have already dropped points against both RCD Mallorca and UD Las Palmas. They have won both of their home games so far, beating Real Valladolid 3-0 before an Mbappé brace saw them put Real Betis to the sword.
